Signia was established in 2010 in order to provide ‘director-led’, hands-on corporate finance advice to company owners and entrepreneurs. The principals of Signia provide a unique service. We combine many years of professional advisory experience with over 30 years of main board and CEO management responsibility. Between us, we have led a number of MBOs, MBIs, acquisitions and disposals over the last few years.
Stuart Lees
Stuart joined Arthur Andersen (AA) in 1978 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1981. He was a founding member of the AA Corporate Finance practice in 1988, became a Corporate Finance Partner in 1989 and became Head of UK Advisory in 1997. In 2004, Stuart became CEO of Latium Holdings, a diversified retail and manufacturing group with annual turnover of £500m, focussing on the home improvement products sector in the UK, Europe and US. In this position, he was directly responsible for a number of acquisitions and disposals. Since 2010, in addition to his work with Signia, Stuart has acted as Non-executive Chairman to several businesses, both Private Equity led and private, across a number of sectors. Having led, or worked on, over 100 completed deals, Stuart has detailed knowledge of the full range of corporate finance transactions.
Bill Riordan
Bill started his career as a Tax Consultant before becoming an Investment Banker. He has spent the last 30 years as an adviser to North West based SMEs, providing advice for fund raising (EIS, Private Equity, Senior and Mezzanine debt), business expansion, mergers and acquisitions, succession planning and shareholder exits. Bill is a Non-executive Director of a number of companies as well as a mentor to company founders and/or successors. He has particular experience in the telecommunications, legal services, IT and renewable energy sectors.
Susan Lees
Susan started her career as a Corporate Investment Banker, specialising in acquisition finance, alongside Private Equity investors, to assist with MBOs/MBIs, acquisitions and other highly leveraged transactions. In 1999, she became directly involved in business through her roles as Executive Director of a number of SMEs, in sectors as diverse as vehicle dealerships, HP/lease finance and property development/investment. Susan is currently a Non-executive Director of two property development companies.
